In Greene County district court Ronald Dean Mulder, 59, of Perry was sentenced Sept. 9 to five years in prison after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of possession of methamphetamine- third offense. The prison term was suspended and he was placed on probation for three years. He must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete all recommended treatment at his own expense. His driver’s license was revoked for 180 days. Mulder was fined $750 with a $262.50 surcharge; both were suspended.
The court found he was unable to pay $180 restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees. He must pay a $125 Law Enforcement Initiative (LEI) surcharge, a $10 surcharge for drug abuse resistance education (DARE), and $180 court costs. Charges of felon in possession of a firearm, and possession of marijuana- third offense were dismissed, as well as a companion case in magistrate court in which Mulder was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and driving while license suspended. Matthew John Goff, 42, of Jefferson was sentenced to five years in prison after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of burglary- third degree. The prison term was suspended and he was placed on probation for three years. He was fined $750 with a $262.50 surcharge and a $125 LEI surcharge. Goff also changed his plea to guilty to a charge of possession of methamphetamine- third or subsequent offense. He was sentenced to five years in prison, concurrent to the burglary sentence. The prison term was suspended and he was placed on probation for three years. On that charge he was fined $750 with a $262.50 surcharge, a $10 DARE surcharge and a $125 LEI surcharge. Goff’s driver’s license was revoked for 180 days. He must pay $153 restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees and $140 court costs. One count of possession of a controlled substance- third or subsequent offense, one count of burglary- third degree and one count of theft- third degree were dismissed. Jeffery Paul Olberding, 49, of Scranton was sentenced to two years in prison after he changed his plea to guilty to one count of carrying weapons. The prison term was suspended and he was placed on probation for one year. He was fined $625 with a $218.75 surcharge; both were suspended. The court determined Olberding is unable to pay $250 restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees. One count of carrying weapons was dismissed. Court costs were $181. (Sentencing: Kester)

She was fined $625 with a $218.75 surcharge; both were suspended. She must pay a $10 DARE surcharge and a $125 LEI surcharge. Her driver’s license was revoked for 180 days. She must pay restitution for her court appointed attorney’s fees in an amount to be determined and $180 court costs. Charges of possession of marijuana- third or subsequent offense, one count of burglary- third degree, and theft- third degree were dismissed. Steven Logan Dzuris, 29, of Jefferson was sentenced Sept. 9 to two days in jail after he pleaded guilty to operating while intoxicated (OWI)- first offense, amended from OWI- second offense. He must pay sheriff’s room and board for the time he serves. He must complete the recommendations of a substance abuse evaluation he has already undergone and he must complete a community college drinking drivers school. Dzuris was fined $1,250 with a $437.50 surcharge and a $10 DARE surcharge. He must pay restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees to be determined and $229 court costs. (Sentencing: Kester)

He must also pay restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees to be determined and $100 court costs. A charge of possession of marijuana- first offense was dismissed. Nicholas Anthony Balderas, 24, of Jefferson was sentenced to two years in prison after he pleaded guilty to a charge of domestic abuse assault- aggravated, amended from domestic abuse assault- third or subsequent offense. All but 90 days of the prison term was suspended and he was placed on probation for two years. He must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at his own expense. He must also have a mental health evaluation and follow any recommendations for treatment or counseling, and he must complete a batterers education program at his own expense. Balderas was fined $625 with a $218.75 surcharge. He must pay $92 restitution to the victim, restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees to be determined, and $216.86 court costs. Trial dates were set for Nov. 1 in every case.
